Celebrating Our Students: AIU’s Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony

On May 29, American International University (AIU) celebrated the remarkable achievements of its graduating class of 2024 during a memorable commencement ceremony held at the AIU Campus. The event honored the dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence of the graduates, highlighting their transformative journey through AIU.

Inspirational Speeches from Distinguished Guests

The ceremony featured esteemed speakers who shared their wisdom and insights with the graduates:

  • US Ambassador Karen Hideko Sasahara addressed the audience, underscoring the significance of the graduates' accomplishments and their potential to contribute positively to society.
  • Dr. Fuad Al Ali, a distinguished alumnus of Kuwait University and a leader in medical education and accreditation, delivered the commencement address. His inspiring words encouraged the graduates as they embarked on their professional journeys.

Student Speakers: Voices of the Future

Representing the diverse talents and accomplishments of the graduating class, two outstanding students delivered heartfelt speeches:

  • Mr. Mohammed AlTaweel, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a specialization in Automation and Robotics, demonstrated exemplary academic performance and leadership. He urged his peers to continue with determination and resilience, asking, "Where can we make the biggest impact? What can we do to make Kuwait a better place? To make the world a better place?"
  • Ms. Lulwa AlNashmi, a top student in AIU's graduating class majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering, consistently made the Dean's List since 2020. She reflected on the day's significance, saying, "Today is not just a day of academic accomplishment but a celebration of resilience, growth, and collective strength." She advised her fellow graduates to embrace uncertainty, take risks, and never stop learning.

Recognizing Outstanding Achievements

AIU proudly recognized several students for their exceptional academic performance:

  • Ms. Fatima Alsowailah maintained a perfect GPA of 4.0 in her Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Computing with a major in Civil Engineering.
  • Ms. Reem Abdulkarim S Alessa and Aeshah Althiab both excelled in their Biomedical Engineering majors, each earning a GPA of 4.0.
