The Writing Center

The mission of the AIU Writing Center is to create a safe and intentional space for AIU students to develop into effective and independent academic writers.  The Writing Center at AIU is here to serve students in all aspects of academic writing throughout their tenure at the University.   Tutors in the Writing Center support students by assessing individual needs and providing writing support through individual conferencing, modeling, and guided practice.  We are committed to building a community of students, tutors, and instructors, working together to inspire writers of all levels. Through interdisciplinary instruction and evidence-based practices, the Writing Center advances AIU’s mission to “empower students to become creators, not just consumers.”

The Writing Center endeavors to empower all students at AIU by meeting students where they are in their writing and providing them with the support they need to achieve their goals. Our professional tutors support students through all parts of the writing process, from brainstorming to publishing.

The Writing Center provides students with a variety of activities and unique experiences that motivate and inspire writers, fostering a sense of community on the AIU campus.
