The Student Success Center (SSC) is a dedicated department that focuses on providing resources, support, and services to help students succeed academically, personally, and professionally. The primary goal of the Student Success Center is to enhance student learning, retention, and overall achievement. The SSC offers a wide range of workshops & services tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.

Our primary goals at the Writing and Tutoring Centers revolve around creating a supportive and enriching environment that allows students to excel in their academic journey. We aim to help students improve their writing skills, allowing them to become effective communicators with clarity and creativity. We aim to address individual learning needs through personalized tutoring sessions, building confidence in students' ability to express their ideas coherently and persuasively.

The Writing and Tutoring Centers are committed to developing well-rounded students who not only excel in writing but also have critical thinking skills, self-confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. We envision a community of empowered individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to the world.

 

Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center offers academic assistance and support to students outside of their regular classes in all subject areas. The Center provides a supportive learning environment where students can receive one-on-one attention or participate in small group sessions. The tutoring sessions aim to help students improve their understanding of various subjects and develop essential learning skills. The Center offers: 

  • Subject-Specific Tutoring
  • Individual and Group Tutoring
  • Peer Tutoring 
  • Exam Review Sessions

Writing Center

The Writing Center provides support and an encouraging environment for AIU students to develop into effective and independent academic writers. The Center aims to promote a positive writing culture and advances AIU’s mission to “empower students to become creators, not just consumers”. The Center offers:

  • One-on-One Writing Support
  • Help students review, brainstorm, organize their thoughts effectively, and structure their assignments.
  • Editing and Revision Support
  • Research Writing Support
  • Opportunity to practice and improve English language proficiency
  • Writing and Academic Skills Workshops

Academic Advising is located in B Building B on Floor Two, in the Student Success Center, behind the 2nd Floor computer lab. Students can make appointments at the Student Success Center reception area or email. You can also contact advising@aiu.edu.kw for further information.
