Dual Enrollment

An innovative program for high achievers.

Through Dual Enrollment, AIU hopes to offer the opportunity for academically talented high school seniors to earn college credit in advance of university study. These credits may give students a head-start at their future university of choice, and may also be used as credit towards high school graduation, depending on the agreement between AIU and the high school.

Students in our Dual Enrollment program will have the chance to experience college life ahead of their peers, giving them an advantage as they begin to decide which university is right for them. They will take classes with other university students, and have access to campus services and facilities that are available to all AIU students. Credits earned may also give students a head start at AIU or their university of choice once they complete high school. Students will be challenged in the classroom but will ultimately be better prepared for collegiate coursework after their experience with us.

Program Expectations

Students will be allowed to register for a maximum of seven (7) credit hours per semester from a pre-selected list of general education courses. These courses are specifically selected as they are most likely to be necessary in almost any university program of study.

Students are required to follow all AIU policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, textbooks, conduct, etc. as well as to abide by all academic regulations found in the AIU Undergraduate Catalog.

Students coming from high schools where the language of instruction is not English will be required to take a language placement test upon application. Students must be degree-level proficient in English to be accepted into the program. Students who intend to take certain courses in mathematics and science will also be required to take a math placement test. Students must be degree-level ready for the mathematics and/or science course they intend to take.
