• Submit the completed AIU application form 
• Photocopy of applicant’s civil ID
• Photocopy of parent’s civil ID
• Photocopy of applicant’s passport
• Applicant’s passport size photo
• Official up to date high school transcript
• Official authenticated document confirming graduation from High School.
• Submission of Certificate of Good Conduct from school.
• For graduates of Kuwait public high schools: An authenticated copy of High School diploma
• For graduates of non-public high schools: An authenticated copy of "Kuwait Equivalency" by the Ministry of Education
• Optional: Official test score reports (IELTS, TOEFL, ACT or SAT)
• For male applicant's over 21 years old, submit a Certificate of Criminal Status.

 

Applications for the School of Engineering and Computing

Students planning to enroll in one of our Engineering and Computing degree programs must complete the following additional admissions requirements:

• Graduates of schools within Kuwait must hold the Sciences High School diploma
• Graduates of schools not within Kuwait must have completed Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in high school, in addition to the Math requirements as outlined by the Ministry of Education

• لخريجي دولة الكويت: على المتقدم ان يحمل شهادة ثانوية عامة – القسم العلمي فقط

• للخريجين من خارج دولة الكويت: يجب أن يكون خريجو المدارس خارج الكويت قد أتموا دراسة علم الأحياء والكيمياء والفيزياء في المدرسة الثانوية ، بالإضافة إلى متطلبات الرياضيات كما حددتها وزارة التربية والتعليم.

1. Students should refer to the Academic Calendar & check their university emails regularly to keep up to date on the due dates for payment & de-registration.

2. Government scholarship students are subject to PUC scholarship rules and regulations.

Applicants admitted to our undergraduate degree programs are required to demonstrate their proficiency in university-level English and mathematics. Applicants can provide evidence through the following two methods:

• Provide scores of pre-taken standardized/proficiency tests
• Take the AIU English and/or Math Placement Test(s)

We accept the following standardized/proficiency tests as proof of English proficiency: IELTS, TOEFL IBT, SAT (Evidence-based Reading and Writing), ACT (English)

We accept the following  standardized tests as proof of your mathematical skill level: SAT (Math), ACT (Math)

If your submitted test scores do not meet our minimum requirements, or in the absence of prior test scores, you will be required to take our placement tests. Based on the information you provide in your admissions application, you may be requested to take our university English and/or Math placement tests, to complete the admissions process. Our university placement tests cost 5KD per exam and can be paid through our university Cashier's window.

Once you submit your application, our Admissions Specialist will reach out to guide you through the completion of the application procedure and any necessary testing. Before you can begin attending classes, you must attend the New Student Orientation which is held before the start of each semester.
New Student Orientation will provide you with all the necessary information to get you ready to begin your journey at AIU, from class schedules to campus services. In addition to key information, you will also be provided with your student account, university email, and a physical student identification card. Once you are a student with us, you will have access to your assigned academic advisor who can guide you through your duration at AIU.

Scholarships and Self-Funding

Students may finance their studies at AIU through self-funding, government or external sponsorship, or the AIU Merit Scholarship Program, subject to the applicable eligibility requirements.

AIU Merit Scholarship Program

AIU offers tuition scholarships to eligible students in recognition of academic excellence. The Excellence Admission Award provides a 50% tuition scholarship for the first semester to eligible new first-year undergraduate students with a high school average of 95% or above, who meet the University’s admission and placement requirements.

Scholarship continuation is subject to academic performance and the applicable award criteria, with tuition scholarships of 50%, 35%, or 20%. Awards are competitive, subject to availability and final University approval, and cover tuition fees only.

Private Universities Council (PUC) Scholarships

AIU accepts eligible applicants sponsored by the Private Universities Council (PUC). Applicants must complete AIU’s admission requirements and apply for the scholarship through the PUC website during the designated application period. Application dates will also be announced through AIU’s official communication channels.

Self-Funded Students and External Sponsorship

Applicants may enroll as self-funded students or use funding from an external sponsor, subject to the applicable requirements. Self-funded students are responsible for paying tuition and fees in accordance with the University’s approved payment deadlines. Students receiving external sponsorship should confirm their funding arrangements and remain responsible for any charges not covered by their sponsor.

The PUC Scholarship applies to applicants who:

Freshman Applicants

• Are Kuwaiti nationals
• Have graduated from high school within 26 months prior to submitting the PUC application
• Are no older than 23 years of age

Transfer Applicants

• Are Kuwaiti nationals
• Have graduated no more than 3 years prior to submitting the PUC application
• Are no older than 27 years of age
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above

How to apply to for the PUC Scholarship:

• Applicants with inquiries about the requirements set by the PUC should visit the PUC website www.puc.edu.kw for more information.
• Government scholarship students are subject to PUC scholarship rules and regulations.

 

 

AIU Merit Scholarship Program

AIU’s Merit Scholarship Program recognizes academic excellence through tuition scholarships for eligible students. Awards are competitive and subject to scholarship availability, program capacity, completion of admission requirements, and final University approval.

Excellence Admission Award – 50% Tuition Scholarship

The Excellence Admission Award covers 50% of tuition fees for the first semester of enrollment. To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be new first-year undergraduate students with no previous enrollment at any college or university.

• Have a minimum overall high school average of 95%, based on the official authenticated transcript submitted during admission.

• Have graduated from high school within two years of the intended semester of enrollment.

• Complete all admission requirements and meet the placement requirements for Foundation Level II or direct degree admission.

Students placed in Foundation Level I, transfer students, and students transitioning from AIU’s Foundation Program into a degree program are not eligible for the Excellence Admission Award.

Meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee a scholarship.

Scholarship Continuation and Academic Distinction Awards

After the first semester, scholarship continuation is subject to the applicable academic requirements:

Degree-level undergraduate students must register for a minimum of 15 credit hours. Foundation Level II students are subject to the applicable grade requirements in all registered courses, as detailed in the Student & Parent/Guardian Eligibility and Acceptance Form.

Important Terms and Conditions

• Scholarships apply to tuition fees only and do not cover Student Services Fee or other University fees and charges.

• The scholarship cannot be combined with a PUC or Ministry of Education government scholarship.

• High school grade amendments, transcript corrections, or appeals submitted after enrollment do not qualify students for a scholarship retroactively.

• Providing false, misleading, or incomplete information may result in cancellation of the scholarship and/or admission.

• AIU reserves the right to amend or withdraw an award granted in error or where eligibility requirements or University policies are not met.
