Spring 2026 New Student Orientation: Your Gateway to AIU Life 

American International University (AIU) in Kuwait is thrilled to welcome new undergraduate students to the Spring 2026 semester with the mandatory New Student Orientation on January 20, 2026. This one-day event, running from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, helps incoming first-year and transfer students transition smoothly into university life and campus community. 

Why Attend New Student Orientation? 

New Student Orientation is required for all newly admitted students and serves as your first step to thriving at AIU. The program acclimates you to the university's culture, where students, faculty, and staff collaborate in an atmosphere full of ideas, events, and opportunities. Expect an engaging day filled with presentations, interactions, and practical setup to kick off your AIU journey successfully. 

Detailed Schedule Highlights 

The orientation follows a structured agenda to maximize your experience, starting with check-in at 9:00 AM in the reception area and AIU Auditorium. 

  • 9:00–9:30 AM: Check-in, Welcome, and ID Distribution – Receive your student ID and NSO bag with T-shirt selection while student leaders guide you. 
  • 9:30–10:00 AM: Icebreaker Activities – Connect with new classmates through fun activities before the main presentations. 
  • 10:00 AM–12:00 PM: Key Presentations – Hear welcomes from administration, Office of the Registrar, Student Conduct, Academic Advising, Campus Safety, IT video, Library, Student Success Center, and Student Services (Athletics, Career Services, Student Engagement). 
  • 12:00–12:10 PM: Coffee Break – Quick refresh before faculty intros. 
  • 12:10–12:30 PM: Faculty Introductions – Meet faculty from your school and learn about academic expectations. 
  • 12:30–2:00 PM: IT Setup and Lunch – Set up your accounts in the computer lab (Building B) and enjoy student lunch with vouchers. 

Sessions take place primarily in AIU Auditorium, with IT setup in Building B. 

What to Expect and Gain 

During the day, explore AIU's resources through an Informational Resources Fair and direct interactions. Key highlights include: 

  • Meeting faculty, staff, current students, and new classmates from your school. 
  • Learning about academic advising, tutoring, writing center, career services, library, and student success tools. 
  • Understanding the Student Code of Conduct, campus safety, and ways to get involved via Student Engagement and Athletics. 
  • Picking up essential info on campus life, events, and opportunities for a rich university experience. 
  • This orientation equips you with everything needed to start strong, from your student ID to knowledge of support systems.
