The Annual Research Workshop 2025, hosted by American International University (AIU) from August 31 to September 2, marked another milestone in promoting academic excellence, scientific dialogue, and meaningful collaboration. The three-day event brought together esteemed researchers, faculty, and deans, creating a vibrant environment for the exchange of innovative ideas and impactful research proposals.
This year’s workshop was enriched by the active involvement of researchers from the Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research (KISR) and the Dasman Diabetes Institute (DDI). Their contributions added significant value to the discussions, particularly in fields addressing public health, biomedical innovations, and sustainable research advancements.
In addition to our esteemed guests, all AIU faculty and deans attended the workshop, demonstrating the university’s strong commitment to building a research-driven culture. Their participation underscored the importance of collaboration across disciplines and institutions in shaping the future of academic research.
A key highlight of the workshop was the recognition of outstanding research proposals. We proudly acknowledge the contributions of 11 distinguished faculty members who submitted strong and competitive proposals for the award. Special congratulations go to Dr. Carlos A. Andreucci, PhD, Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering, who was awarded Best Research Proposal of the Workshop. Dr. Andreucci’s innovative research exemplifies the spirit of academic excellence and serves as an inspiration to both emerging and established researchers. His work also reflects AIU’s continued commitment to advancing the frontiers of knowledge in the biomedical sciences.
The Annual Research Workshop at AIU is more than just an academic event—it is a catalyst for long-term partnerships, cutting-edge discoveries, and a shared vision of innovation. By bringing together leading minds from Kuwait’s renowned research institutes alongside AIU’s diverse academic community, the workshop reinforces AIU’s role as a hub for research collaboration in the region.
As we look forward to future editions, AIU remains committed to cultivating a research culture that bridges disciplines, supports faculty and students, and drives scientific progress for the benefit of society.
