The American International University (AIU) proudly welcomed more than 1,200 new students and over 200 parents to campus during the Fall 2026 New Student Orientation (NSO), marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the university’s newest Eagles.

Held across four days on September 1, 2, 3, and 6, the orientation program introduced incoming students to AIU’s vibrant campus community, academic resources, student services, and the many opportunities available throughout their university journey. New Student Orientation is designed to help newly admitted students transition confidently into university life and become familiar with the resources and support available at AIU.

A Warm Welcome to the AIU Community

From the moment students arrived on campus, they were welcomed by AIU faculty, staff, student ambassadors, and members of the university community. The four-day program created an energetic atmosphere filled with new friendships, campus exploration, interactive activities, and plenty of Eagle spirit.

For many students, NSO was their first opportunity to meet their future classmates, connect with faculty and staff, and begin feeling at home on campus.

Students also received their AIU student IDs and were introduced to important campus facilities, services, and resources that will support them throughout their academic journey.

Discovering Campus Resources and Opportunities

Throughout NSO, students had the opportunity to learn more about the services available to help them succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Sessions and activities introduced students to key areas including Academic Advising, Tutoring, the Writing Center, Career Services, the Library, Student Engagement, Athletics, and other student support services.

The Informational Resources Fair also gave new students the chance to meet representatives from different departments, ask questions, and discover opportunities to become more involved in campus life.

Beyond academics, students learned about clubs, events, activities, leadership opportunities, and the many ways they can make the most of their experience at AIU.

Building Connections from Day One

A major part of NSO was creating opportunities for students to connect with one another. Icebreakers, interactive activities, campus experiences, and conversations with student ambassadors helped new students form friendships and feel more comfortable in their new environment.

Student ambassadors played an important role throughout the orientation, helping guide students, answer questions, and share their own experiences of life at AIU.

These early connections help establish a strong sense of belonging and remind students that their university journey is one they do not have to navigate alone.

Welcoming Parents to AIU

Fall 2026 NSO also welcomed more than 200 parents, giving families an opportunity to learn more about AIU and the support available to their students.

Parents were introduced to important university services, academic expectations, student resources, and campus life, helping them better understand the environment their students are now part of.

Ready for a New Academic Year

With four days of orientation completed, AIU’s newest Eagles officially began their academic journey as Fall 2026 classes started on September 9.

NSO is more than an introduction to campus—it is the first step in building a successful and meaningful university experience. From meeting new friends and discovering campus resources to connecting with faculty and exploring opportunities beyond the classroom, the experience sets the foundation for everything that comes next.

As the Fall 2026 academic year begins, AIU looks forward to seeing its newest students learn, create, connect, and grow as part of the AIU community.
