Open Call for Film Submissions – AIU Kuwait International Film Festival 2025 

We are thrilled to announce that submissions are now open for the AIU Kuwait International Film Festival 2025! This is your opportunity to showcase your creativity, talent, and storytelling to a global audience. We welcome filmmakers from across the world to share their vision and contribute to a celebration of cinema that connects cultures, sparks dialogue, and inspires change. 

Whether you are an emerging filmmaker or an established voice in the industry, KIFF 2025 is the stage for your work. Selected films will be screened during the festival at the American International University in Kuwait, bringing together students, professionals, and film enthusiasts in one vibrant cultural event. 

Submission Deadline 

September 1, 2025, 11:59 PM (Kuwait time) 

Award Categories 

Submissions will be considered for the following categories: 

• Best Arab Feature Fiction Film 
• Best Kuwaiti Short Film 
• Best Cinematography 
• Best Actor 
• Best Arab Feature Documentary 
• Best Arab Short Documentary 
• Best Arab Short Fiction Film 
• Best International Short Fiction Film 
• Best International Short Documentary 

Submission Guidelines 

• Submission Fee: Free 
• Eligibility: Open to filmmakers worldwide 
• Limit: One submission per director (multiple entries will not be accepted) 

Film Requirements: 

• Arab & International Short Films: 4–30 minutes 
• Arab Feature Films: 60–120 minutes 
• All films must be original and produced no earlier than 2022.
