AIU Celebrates Excellence in Research and Leadership
American International University (AIU) honored distinguished members of its leadership and staff in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions to the university community.
The recognition ceremony celebrated Dr. Mohammad Alqattan, Vice President for University Engagement, and Dr. Meshal Alobaid, Assistant Vice President for Research, who received the Dr. Fayza Al-Kharafi Award for Research. Mr. Adnan Aslam, Facilities Manager, was also recognized with the Mr. Ali Al-Ghanim Award for Excellence.
The ceremony was attended by AIU President, Professor Dr. Yousef Haik, and Dr. Shamail Al-Sabah, Vice President for Administrative Affairs.
Recognizing Excellence in Research and Innovation
The Dr. Fayza Al-Kharafi Award for Research recognizes outstanding contributions to research, innovation, and knowledge creation. The recognition of Dr. Mohammad Alqattan and Dr. Meshal Alobaid highlights their contributions to strengthening the university’s research culture, supporting academic and research initiatives, and contributing to an environment that encourages research, innovation, and academic collaboration.
Through their work, both faculty leaders have contributed to advancing research activities and supporting opportunities for knowledge development across the university community.

The Mr. Ali Al-Ghanim Award for Excellence recognizes outstanding professional performance, dedication, and meaningful service to the university.
This year, Mr. Adnan Aslam was recognized for his contributions to facilities management and his continued commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality university environment. His work supports the daily needs of students and employees while contributing to the effective operation of the university.
