Emotional tension is captured between joy and sorrow as the Virgin Mary holds her son, Jesus as both a child and man. Bright angels surround the child, symbolizing divine celebration, while darker tones envelop Mary at the death of Jesus, reflecting their suffering. Her split expression-half in light, half in shadow-reflects the complex emotions of maternal love and looming sacrifice. The contrast between light and dark evokes a powerful sense of divine presence and human grief.

يجسد هذا العمل التوتر العاطفي بين الفرح والحزن، حيث تحتضن السيدة مريم ابنها يسوع، كطفل ورجل في آن واحد. يحيط بالطفل ملائكة مضيئة ترمز إلى الاحتفال الإلهي، بينما تغلّف الألوان الداكنة مريم عند موت يسوع، معبّرة عن الألم والمعاناة. تعكس ملامح وجهها المنقسمة-نصفها في النور ونصفها في الظل-المشاعر المعقدة للحب الأمومي والتضحية القادمة.
ويثير التباين بين النور والظلام إحساسا قويًا بالحضور الإلهي والحزن الإنساني.
AIU Annual Art Contest
A Celebration of Artistic Brilliance
The Divine Creation Art Contest encourages students to explore the divine craftsmanship behind the natural world. It is a space to celebrate art as an act of reflection, one that stands firm in belief, honoring the Creator’s artistry amidst a culture that often elevates science over spirituality. Open to university and high school students, the contest accepts a wide range of submissions, from traditional media to digital creations. Winning works receive awards, certificates, and permanent display across the AIU campus.
