Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education - English

AIU School of Education offers the Bachelor of arts in Secondary Education - English program in response to the current educational climate in the nation, which include shortages in qualified teachers for public and private schools.

Graduates from this program will be equipped with both the content and the pedagogical knowledge and skills necessary to implement the school’s conceptual framework by shaping future generations of secondary school students.

The secondary education curriculum at AIU leads to a bachelor’s degree of education in English. It aims to provide candidates with: (i) an accredited professional qualification meeting the requirements of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education for initial teacher education; and (ii) Graduate Attributes, as detailed below. The secondary education curriculum leads to a bachelor’s degree in education, graduate will be qualified to apply to any secondary school teaching certification in the major of English.

School of Education Requirements

Students in the Bachelor of Secondary Education must complete a minimum of 120 credits including satisfaction of all degree requirements of AIU. All course work must be completed in accordance with the academic rules of AIU and those of the department.

General Education Requirements 36 credits
