Towards Kuwait 2035 with Dr. Kahled Mahdi

 

 

On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, Dr. Khalid Mahdi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development for Kuwait and the Program Director of the Country Plan Action Program of UNDP in Kuwait visited students on campus at AIU. During his visit, Dr. Mahdi gave a talk to the AIU community on the growth and prospects of Kuwait, more specifically, Kuwait Vision 2035.

 

Kuwait Vision 2035 focuses on creating a pathway for Kuwait to become a leading country within the seven key pillars of Kuwait’s future. Dr. Mahdi mentioned how the seven pillars of Kuwait’s development plans, namely, effective public administration, creative human capital, sustainable diversified economy, strong infrastructure, reliable healthcare, sustainable living environment, and global positing, are all in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG).

 

During his talk, Dr. Mahdi also stressed the importance for the Kuwaiti youth to develop their knowledge as well as their skillsets to help Kuwait reach its goal of establishing a strong position in the global markets. He also explained how gathering lessons from the past, and resources from the present, play a crucial role in improving sustainability for Kuwait’s future.

 

Dr. Mahdi also shared valuable information about Kuwait’s infrastructure, sustainability, standard of living, and many other key aspects with the AIU community. The presentation encouraged students to be active participant in the country’s growth and affairs, in line with AIU’s mission to develop the future leaders of Kuwait.
